Relackout

Plans and limits

Relackout's Trial, Standard and Pro plans; what universe, patch and workspace limits count, what happens when you hit one, and how to upgrade.

Knowing what your plan covers makes life easier, whether you’re about to buy Relackout or already using it. This page explains what the plans are, what universe, patch and workspace limits count, what the app does when you hit one, and how to upgrade. We don’t write current prices here; prices vary by currency and billing interval and are always shown on the Pricing page.

Relackout’s plans

Relackout has three plans: Trial, Standard and Pro. Trial is a free 14-day period with access to Standard-level features; there’s no billing interval to choose. You buy Standard and Pro with one of three billing intervals: Monthly, Yearly or Lifetime. You pick the interval and see the current price on the Pricing page’s selector. For how the trial starts, creating an account and activating a device, see Install and start your free trial.

What universe, patch and workspace limits count

Every plan is bounded by three numbers: universe, patch (max fixtures) and workspace.

  • Universe: A universe is a single line of 512 DMX channels. (How channels and addresses work inside one is its own topic — see DMX, universes, channels and addresses.) Relackout supports at most 4 universes; if your plan’s universe value is lower, you’ll see fewer buttons in the universe picker on the Patch screen and in the output settings — the count is always the smaller of the two.
  • Patch: Your plan’s patch quota looks at the total across all your workspaces, not at a single workspace. Even with two separate workspaces, the quota is shared.
  • Workspace: Counts how many separate venues/projects (workspaces) you can open. If it’s unlimited, the app shows it as ”∞”.

Current numbers vary by plan — you’ll see them next to each plan in the table on the Pricing page.

Where to see your plan’s limits in the app

  1. Open Settings from the home screen.

Home screen; the Settings button highlighted, not yet clicked.
  2. Click Manage workspaces in Settings.

Workspaces screen; the Manage workspaces heading and the usage line below it highlighted (the usage line is blurred in this screenshot), Demo Venue and Studio B cards, the + New workspace button.

At the top of the Workspaces screen you’ll see a line showing your workspace count and patch count against your plan’s limits. An unlimited limit shows as ”∞”. In the screenshot above this line is blurred for privacy; in your own app it’s readable.

What happens when you hit a limit

  • Workspace limit: On the Workspaces screen, once you hit the limit an amber hint line appears at the top (Your plan has reached its workspace limit. Upgrade to create another workspace.) and the + New workspace and import buttons become disabled; the new-workspace dialog never opens.
  • Patch limit: If you click Add to patch on the Patch screen or in fixture setup while your quota is full, the patch isn’t saved and a warning window opens.

How to upgrade your plan

The Upgrade plan button in Settings — or the same button on any locked-feature badge — opens the customer portal’s billing page in your browser. On the website, the Buy now button on the Pricing page goes to the same customer portal. For billing intervals, invoices and refunds, see Billing and subscription.
