Chapters

Before you can do anything in Relackout, you need to install it, create an account, and get your 14-day trial running. This guide walks you through picking the right installer, all the way to activating your license on this computer. By the end, you’ll land on the home screen and know where to check your language and license in Settings.

What you need

Getting from zero to your first sign-in takes four steps:

  1. Download the installer for your operating system.
  2. Install it on macOS, Windows, or Linux.
  3. Create an account and start your 14-day free trial.
  4. Sign in inside the app.

You need an internet connection to sign in and activate your license; day-to-day use afterward doesn’t require a cloud connection.

Download the right package

Grab the installer from the download page: three cards list macOS, Windows, and Linux. On Mac, pick Apple Silicon for M-series chips or Other Mac for Intel; Windows has a single installer (Download); Linux offers Linux x64 or Linux ARM64. Each card shows the current version number (Latest build) and when it was last updated (Updated).

Install on macOS

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file.
  2. Drag the Relackout icon into the Applications folder.
  3. Launch Relackout from there.

Install on Windows

  1. Run the installer file.
  2. Confirm or change the folder the wizard suggests.
  3. Once it’s done, open Relackout from the Start menu.

Install on Linux

  • AppImage: make it executable and run it directly.
  • .deb package: on a Debian- or Ubuntu-based distribution, install it with your package manager.

First launch and language

The first time you open Relackout, you’ll briefly see Initializing, then the sign-in screen. The app starts in English; you can change the language later in Settings too.

  1. Check the language picker at the top right of the sign-in screen: it shows English. If you prefer Turkish, pick Türkçe there and the screen switches right away. The card in the middle has empty Email and Password fields and the Sign in button. No account yet? Create one first, as described below.

Create an account

On the sign-in screen, next to Don’t have an account?, click Sign up. This opens the sign-up page of the customer portal in your browser — Relackout accounts are managed on the customer portal, not inside the app. Fill in:

  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Password (at least 8 characters)
  • First name
  • Last name
  • Two checkboxes (privacy notice, terms of use)

Then click Create account.

Start the 14-day trial

On the portal’s Plans page, click Start trial on the Trial card. No payment details are requested, and the trial is added to your account right away.

Sign in and activate your device

Back in the app, enter the Email and Password you just created, then click Sign in. Forgot your password? Forgot your password? sends you back to the portal.

On your first sign-in, the License activation screen lists the licenses on your account. Click Activate next to your trial license to link it to this computer. If the list looks empty, click Refresh licenses.

The home screen and the guided setup

Once activation is done, Relackout takes you straight to the home screen, and a guided setup window opens automatically.

  1. The Let's create your first light look dialog shows two option cards — I have lighting hardware and Practice without hardware — with Skip for now underneath. We’ll walk through the guided setup itself on the next page, so click that button for now.

  2. Click Settings at the bottom left of the home screen.

Check your language and license in Settings

Two quick checks live in Settings: the interface language, and your account’s license status.

  1. Click the Language picker at the top right; the list shows English and Türkçe. You don’t need to change it now — just confirm it’s there.

  2. Look at the Account & License section: your plan, license status, and remaining days are listed here.

Updates and backups

When a new version ships, a banner appears at the top of the screen with an Downloads button that opens the portal’s downloads page. It only shows up when a new version is actually available.

  1. Scroll down and look at Create full backup in the Backup & Maintenance section — don’t click it yet, since it opens a real save-file dialog.
